Raft, Float or Kayak the Deschutes River

The Deschutes River is one of the most spectacular rivers in the region and a great summer activity for the entire family. A great way to enjoy this fun summer activity is from a raft, tube, canoe, kayak, or a paddleboard (SUP). Please refer to the Bend Parks & Recreation District map and directions to Float the River safely this summer.

Family Friendly Movies

Regal Summer Movie Express has $1 family friendly movies now through mid-August on Tuesday-Wednesday morning. A great activity to do with kids followed by lunch at on of our kid friendly restaurants. Gaze at Stars, the Sun and Owls

Mondays in July & August are filled with solar viewing, meet a great horned owl up close and star gazing with the Sunriver Nature Center and Oregon Observatory. A great summer activity for kids and families.

BMC Free Summer Sunday Concerts at the Les Schwab Amphitheater from 2:30-4:30pm. Concerts on most Sundays through August 2.Healthy Family Fun!

The 5th season of Alive After 5 kicks off on July 8 and runs through August 5 on select Wednesdays from 5-8pm. Enjoy free music series along the banks of the Deschutes River this summer in the Old Mill District.

The Les Schwab Amphitheater has six concerts in July and several more through early September.  See our full concert lineup in Bend, Oregon.

The Met: Live in HD Summer Encores Series runs on Wednesdays in July at Regal Cinemas.  See the summer encore lineup here.

First Friday Art Walk, Art Galleries & Festivals ​

First Friday Art Walk happening July 3 and August 7 from 4-8pm. Meet working artists at Tumalo Art Co. Lubbesmeyer Studio & Gallery, A6 print Studio & Gallery and DeWilde Art Glass.

Art in the High Desert—over 100 nationally acclaimed visual artists—in Bend, Oregon on August 28-30.  Art in the High Desert recently recognized in the top 12 shows in the county by the Art Fair Source Guide.

The 13th annual Bend Brewfest focuses on tasting and enjoying fine craft beers as well as great food. Four days of craft beer bliss featuring 170+ craft beers, on the banks of the Deschutes River on August 13-16 in Bend, Oregon.
