Festival de Banderas (10-7pm) and Cinco de Mayo party (5-10pm)
Festival de Banderas (Festival of Flags), a family-friendly cultural celebration to be held from 10am – 7pm on Saturday, May 5. The Festival de Banderas will open with a presentation of over 20 national flags by local children. The daytime events will include music, children’s activities, vendors and artists, authentic food and colorful costumes, a Cantina, Folkloric dancers, and more.

Opening Flag Ceremony & Lynch Elementary Ballet Folklorical troupe, 10:00am - 10:35am
Ballet Folklorico Ritmo Alegre 10:45am-11:30am
Aztec Dancers, 11:45am - 12:15pm
Privilegio Norteno (Banda), 12:20-1pm
Ballet Folklorico Ritmo Alegre, 1:00 -1:35pm
West Side Roots Rhythm (Spanish songs from West Side Village School students) and Chiringa featuring Shireen Amini's Latin 1:45-2:45pm
Los Cumbiamberos (Cumbia), 3:00-4:15pm
Amalia’s Cinco de Mayo party begins at 5pm. The evening will be filled with an incredible line-up of nationally recognized musicians including: Miami’s Expresion Latina and Diego Garcia (NPR’s best artist of 2011 and former Elefant front man) and finishing the night off with the high energy beats of Hacienda!

Festival de Banderas will be a family-friendly celebration until 7pm, at which time the Amalia’s Cinco de Mayo event will be 21 and older only. Tickets will be available at the Ticket Mill in the Old Mill District, Amalia’s (915 NW Wall Street) in downtown Bend, along with other sponsor locations for only $10. Tickets are good for both events. Children 17 and younger are free.
Both events will be held in the Old Mill District’s Les Schwab Amphitheater and proceeds will support the Central Oregon Latino Scholarship Fund.
