Celebrate 100 Years of the Railroad in Bend with free activities for the entire family at Art Station Bend's Historic Railroad Depot at 313 Shevlin-Hixon Drive from 3:30-6:30pm.
Art projects, antique model trains, blacksmith demonstration, miniature train rides courtesy of the Southern Crossing Neighborhood Association and root beer floats served by Bend City Council. Music by Summit Jazz Band. A reenactment of James Hill's speech driving the Golden Spike at 5pm.

Join the Deschutes County Historical Society for this in-depth look at one of the most important moments in Deschutes County history--the arrival of the railroad in 1911. Speakers Martin Hansen, Dr. Leon Speroff, Kelly Cannon-Miller, Dr. Jarold Ramsey, and Chuck Hutchinson illuminate the stories of the Deschutes River Railroad War, the changes the railway brought, and what it means today.
