Stream Stewardship Day

Stream Stewardship Day is July 11 at Riverbend Park from 10am-1pm. Volunteers of all ages are invited to join the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council, the City of Bend, REI, Old Mill District, Central Oregon Divers,Tumalo Creek Kayak and Canoe, Bend Park and Recreation District and Bend Paddle Trail Alliance in a day of hands-on stewardship activities.

Volunteers will meet at Riverbend Park. River clean-up activities will take place in the Deschutes River and its riparian areas between Riverbend Park and Tumalo Creek Kayak and Canoe.

A special day for watershed stewards of all ages to get their hands dirty and feet wet. Come join the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council and our partners to help steward the Deschutes River and our beautiful parks! The Park District and the Watershed Council have worked closely together on the riparian and instream restoration projects at Farewell Bend Park and Riverbend Park and Stream Stewardship Day is an opportunity for us to come together to steward the Deschutes River and its riparian areas. Recreation in and around the Deschutes River has led to instream debris and significant impacts to river health. In order to keep our river beautiful and protect water quality for fish and wildlife, the Watershed Council coordinates Stream Stewardship Day every year.
