U.S. Gran Prix Cyclocross
The U.S. Gran Prix of Cyclocross final two races of the 2011 season will be in Bend on December 10-11.
The Deschutes Brewery Cup hosted on the National Championship course from 2009-2010 the course features a fly-over, a classic set of stairs and mud galore. The course will be similar to the one used for the Cyclocross National Championships over the last two years in the Old Mill District and Deschutes Brewery grass on Shevlin Hixon Drive.
Races are from 8:30-4:30pm both days with the Elite Pro races starting at 2:15 and 3:30pm on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. There will be a clinic for both kids and adults on Friday, December 9. The free Clif Bar Kids Clinic provides kids ages 10-14 with an opportunity to ride with pro racers from Clif Bar team and learn basic skills and practice techniques on the race course.
The course Preview Clinic offers adult racers the chance to ride with the pros from Team Specialized and learn how to attack the course and approach obstacles.
Grab your cowbell and head to the Old Mill District to cheer on the youth, amateur and professional racers.
