Overview
The Old Mill District is a 270-acre shopping, dining and entertainment mecca in the heart of Bend, Ore. Boasting national retailers, shops and galleries unique to Bend, top restaurants, a movie theater, children’s museum, major outdoor amphitheater, private residences and office buildings, the Old Mill District is a destination experience and an integral part of Bend’s character.

Location
Built on one of the area’s most scenic and welcoming spots, right on the eastern bank of the Deschutes River, the Old Mill District is the geographic center of Bend. Located 170 miles from Portland, Bend is known for its superb weather and year-round outdoor sports. It has become one of the most popular and desirable destinations in the Pacific Northwest.

Shops & Restaurants
A wide spectrum of shops and restaurants calls the Old Mill District home – from art galleries to a children’s museum to name-brand retail stores. In addition to the first-class shopping, visitors are able to experience more than a dozen dining options.

Entertainment
The Les Schwab Amphitheater, directly across the Deschutes River from the Old Mill District, is Bend’s premier music venue. A beautiful outdoor performance space, it accommodates up to 8,000 patrons for summer concerts and special events May through September. The Old Mill District also offers a 16-screen Regal movie theater, the Working Wonders Children’s Museum and the Ticket Mill, where patrons can purchase tickets for special events.

History
In 1993, developer Bill Smith purchased 270 acres on the banks of the Deschutes River that included the former site of two of the world’s largest sawmills. Four years later, the city approved the first phase of the Old Mill District and in 2000 the first businesses opened.

The Old Mill District has become a magnet for tourists and a well-loved gathering place for locals. Almost 100 years after the sawmills put Bend on the Oregon map, the Old Mill District has again become the city’s “powerhouse,” bringing new life and beauty to the riverbanks.

Hours
The Old Mill District is open Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit www.theoldmill.com.
